The Seattle Center Monorail connects downtown with Seattle Center on an elevated route associated with the 1962 World’s Fair. It is both a practical connection and a distinctive part of a Seattle visit.
Where the Monorail goes
The line has two stations: Westlake and Seattle Center. The operator’s first-time rider guide explains station access and ticketing. Westlake’s station is inside Westlake Center on the third floor; the other station serves Seattle Center.
Tickets and timing
Ticket vending machines are available at both stations. Check the official Monorail website for current fares, operating hours and service notices rather than relying on an old fare list. Event schedules and construction can affect a visit.
Seattle Center’s transportation page describes departures approximately every ten minutes and provides other ways to reach the campus. Allow extra time around major events and confirm the last departure for your travel date.
Plan the rest of your outing
Use the ride to connect a downtown outing with Seattle Center. Check individual attraction opening times separately: campus access and attraction hours are not interchangeable. If elevator access is essential, review the operator’s current station information before setting out.
